Student Experiences

Experiential learning opportunities can help build confidence and self-esteem in girls as well as address gender inequality worldwide. NCGS supports several experiential learning initiatives that provide opportunities for students and faculty from NCGS member schools to connect with peer leaders, grow as individuals, and make an impact in their communities. These excursions also promote collaboration between a diverse range of NCGS member schools and help create bonds of sisterhood that are not restricted by alma maters or geographic location.

NCGS offers the following experiential learning programs for students and faculty chaperones at our member schools:

  1. CIEE STEM Program (Costa Rica) [annual deadline is in March for July/August trip]
  2. Grand Classroom Leadership Retreat (Grand Canyon) [annual deadline is in December for June trip]
  3. Mariposa Foundation Summer Scholars Program (Dominican Republic) [annual deadline is in March for June or July trips]
  4. Student Leadership Conference (Australia) [annual deadline is in October for January trip]
  5. WiSci Girls STEAM Camp [annual deadline is in April for July/August trip]
